Am I the only one that is disturbed by this parody and the original song as
well? I want to see the parody where the girl tells both her BF and her dad
that she is not an object to “have for the rest of my life”. The idea that
a woman belongs to her father until he gives her away is just sick.

This is kind of sexist. Why can’t your adult daughter marry whoever she
wants? It’s her life and you should stay out. It’s no longer the 1800s.

“I’m doing what a dad should do”…Not really. If she’s an adult, it’s none
of your business what she does…all you can do is teach…once you have
taught, you no longer have any right to step into her life. You do not own
your daughter’s body. I promise, she can make her own fucking decisions
    without you.

If you wanted to do the adult, actual fatherly thing…you’d let her make
the mistake and be there for her when she actually needs you….

I see to see the “funny” or “awesome” in this. I just see some petty
    bullshit immaturity.

Misogyny.I am disgusted that this song is so popular in this day and age
with its outdated, archaic, patriarchal, and misogynistic themes. You need
to be well off to “take” his daughter, like she’s some kind of possession?
Translation: “I earn good money to keep her fed and dependent on Maleness.
You also need money to keep her dependent on you”. To own her.

Ok let’s make this fucking clear because I am utterly tired of bringing
these basic facts to peoples attention.
    1. A girl doesn’t need her fathers permission for anything. She owes him
nothing, it’s her life. This is patriarchy.
    2. A boy does not need his “father in laws” permission to marry a girl.
    This is patriarchy.
    3. A girl knows what is best for her and what man or woman is best for her.
Her father doesn’t have to be with them, SHE DOES. THIS IS FUCKING
    PATRIARCHY.
    4. Love is not dependent on the money earned by the male. This is
    patriarchy.
    5. Money is not required for love. This is patriarchy.

If you disagree you need to educate yourself (hello, you are on the
internet) or just go fucking die already.

Thankyou and have a nice day.

Unfortunately, you are incorrect. Once your daughter is 18, she has every
right to marry whomever she wants and you can’t do a thing about it. I
remember you were talking about hurting him! Wow, will that land you some
jail time. Also, haven’t you ever read Romeo & Juliet? Remember since their
dads didn’t let them marry they committed suicide? Kind of sounds like you
want that to happen with your girl. Layoff. Geez.

The only people that don’t get this songs are people that aren’t fathers.
This is freaking awesome and is an anthem for dad’s everywhere that have
daughters they want to keep from losers. Keep up the good work!

Who are all these psychos griping on this video?! It’s a parody about a
Dad who cares who his daughter marries, how TF is that a bad thing? Plus
this blows away the original. Wow there’s so many weird & angry people on
    Youtube :(

Your singing talents (and those of your wife) are great, and I commend you
for writing a well-written parody of “Rude”. However, while I’m not a fan
of the original song either, I have to respectfully disagree with the
    message of the song.

While I respect that parents always want what’s best for their children
(including who they decide to marry), the fact is that after a certain age
    — say… the age of majority — what a parent *thinks* is best for their
child may not necessarily be exactly what IS best for their child. So,
yeah, in all this, my main thought is, “What does the daughter want? Are
any of her own wishes and desires in this whole deal actually getting
addressed by either of these men?” And you know what? If she decides to
marry him anyway, despite the fact that her dad said, no, do you really
think that killing him (or even threatening to), even if that is thrown in
for giggles, is going to endear you to her?

I know I should just take the song for what it is, and see that he’s just
having a laugh… (and yeah, seriously, the original song is a total
blick-fest too) but everything about what this parody says just rubs me the
wrong way. Still kudos for writing it. Not many people can do a good song
parody, and you managed to nail that.

I understand why people like this video, however i don’t think that a dad
should have a say in who their daughter marries. Dads don’t own their
daughters, so if she wants to marry someone, he shouldn’t stop her. And
yes, i do realise that this is a parody, but hypothetically, if the
situation was actually happening, the daughter should choose who they marry
